PITTSFORD, N.Y. - December 29, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team returned to the court on Thursday to take part in the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament hosted by St. John Fisher. Despite receiving 31 points from sophomore
Jourdain Bell (Manchester, N.H.), the Chargers fell to the hosts 95-67.
Colby-Sawyer drops to 4-5 and will play Immaculata in the consolation game at 1 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals improve to 5-3 and will host Penn State Behrends in the championship tomorrow at 3 p.m.
Bell led all players with 31 points on 11-of-20 from the floor.
Taylor Grande also reached double figures with 11 points, while
Nate Cook added eight points and three blocks.
St. John Fisher was led by Keegan Ryan's 21 points. Tyler English added 16 points, while Jake Haight and Ryan Henderson rounded out the Cardinals in double figures with 14 points apiece.
Each team made 10 three-pointers, but the Cardinals shot 58.8% while Colby-Sawyer was 45.5% from beyond the arc.
St. John Fisher held a wide discrepancy from the free throw line going 29-for-41 (70.7%), while the Chargers shot 47.8% (11-of-23). The Cardinals also controlled the glass outrebounding Colby-Sawyer 47-28.
