CASTINE, Maine - October 1, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer College women's volleyball team won a pair of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matches in Maine on Saturday. The Chargers beat Johnson State 3-0 and Lyndon 3-1.
The Chargers are now 5-14 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The team travels to MIT on Thursday with first serve set for 7 p.m.
Colby-Sawyer 3 – Johnson State College 0 (25-11, 25-7, 25-11)
Shari Juranovits led the Chargers with 11 kills on .625 hitting. Teammate
Elyssa Clairmont had 23 assists and six digs.
Gabrielle Rodriguez added eight kills, 10 digs, four assists and three aces.
Alli Lahiff also hit an impressive .625 and finished with six kills.
Breanna Laughlin led the Badgers with eight digs and six kills, while teammate Laurel Hubbert-Severance led the team with nine assists, a kill, an ace and a dig. Kimberly Reville collected a team best nine digs.
Colby-Sawyer 3 – Lyndon 1 (23-25, 25-11, 25-14, 25-12)
Gabrielle Rodriguez led the Chargers with 11 kills and 11 digs, while also tallying five aces and a block.
Courtney Murray recorded 10 kills on .348 hitting.
Caroline McCoy led the way for Colby-Sawyer with 15 digs and added five kills on .455 hitting.
Ashley Kinley recorded 12 digs, while
Nicole Olivieri contributed three aces and six digs.
Abbey Greene led the Hornets with a team-leading 14 digs and seven kills, while also tallying an ace and teammate Gwyneth Stahl tallied 14 assists, 11 digs and two kills.
