NEW LONDON, N.H. – January 30, 2016 – In a rematch of last year's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) title game, Husson avenged the loss with an important 88-77 victory at Colby-Sawyer on Saturday afternoon.
Husson improves to 14-4 and sit atop the NAC standings at 11-1. The Eagles will open a three game home stand on Tuesday against Bowdoin. The Chargers drop to 12-6 overall and are in third place in the NAC at 8-4. Colby-Sawyer plays at Castleton on Tuesday.
The Eagles were led by senior Trevon Butler (Waterbury, Conn.) and junior Raheem Anderson (Miramar, Fla.). Butler recorded his sixth double-double of the season with game highs of 27 points and 14 rebounds. He added five assists and four steals. Anderson finished with 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting.

Milani Hicks (Scarborough, Maine) and senior

Colby-Sawyer began the game with a 5-1 spurt, but saw the lead disappear after a 10-0 run capped by a Raheem Anderson layup. The Eagles held the lead for the remainder of the half. Colby-Sawyer trailed by 11 on multiple occasions but cut the deficit to five with 1:39 left to go after a three-pointer from freshman

The Chargers came within a basket at 14:05 after a
Wol Majong trey and again at 11:44 after a
Nate Cook layup, but Husson pushed its lead back to nine, 62-53, less than two minutes later. Despite the Chargers shooting 53.6 percent in the second half they could only pull within eight for the remainder of the half. Husson shot 50 percent from the floor in the second.
The Eagles won the boards 45-36 and made 19-of 25 free throws. Each team made nine three-pointers in the game.
