NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 26, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team erased a 2-0 halftime deficit to come back and defeat Husson, 3-2 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match on Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in the NAC. The Chargers will travel to Newbury on Wednesday. Husson drops to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference. The Eagles will host Bowdoin on Wednesday.
The Eagles received a pair of first half goals from senior Phil Frost (Bangor, Maine) in a 5:22 span to give him six goals for the season.
Colby-Sawyer would get the offensive attack in sync in the second half and surge for three goals to win the match.
In the 62nd minute, sophomore
Zach Elmore (Berlin, Vt.) received a diagonal pass from fellow sophomore
Denali Sexton (Barrington, R.I.) which he shot inside the far post for his four tally of the season. The assist gave Sexton the 12th of his career, which ranks tied for 10th all-time with Chris Rafferty '08.
Freshman
Noah Camelo (Marblehead, Mass.) tied the match four minutes later on a header off a set piece sent in by junior
Andrew Clothier (Matamata, New Zealand).
The game-winner came at 67:16 off the foot of
Denali Sexton. He notched his second game clincher off a cross into the six-yard box from freshman
Anthony Romeo (Waterford, N.Y.).
Colby-Sawyer keeper
Sean Babinski (Concord, Calif.) got the win with eight saves. Husson goalie Cody Gross (Fair Lawn, N.J.) made nine stops in the loss.
