NASHUA, N.H. - September 2, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer College men's soccer team fell at Daniel Webster, 2-0 in the season opener for both teams.
Matheus Faria (Curitiba, Brazil) had a hand in both scores for the Eagles.
Faria and teammate Austin Marshall (Atkinson, N.H.) did all the damage DWC would need in the span of just 60 seconds late into the first half.
Faria netted the first of his Eagle career wresting his way past two Charger defenders up the middle to create a partial breakaway and buried a 15-yarder at the 34:30 mark, and exactly one minute later, took the ball into the deep right picket and found Marshall alone on the far left post giving Marshall an easy tap-in.
Eagle senior net minder Sean Hamilton (Brookline, N.H.) picked up his 15th career shutout making six saves (four in the first half) including two terrific stops two minutes apart at the midpoint of the first.
Sean Babinski (Concord, Cal.) took the loss in goal for the Chargers, finishing with five saves.
Denali Sexton (Barrington, R.I.) put two shots on goal for the blue and white.
DWC finished with a 14-6 total shots advantage (7-6 on goal).
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday hosting Emerson in another non-conference meeting at 1:00 p.m.
Colby-Sawyer hosts Eastern Nazarene in a nonleague meeting on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
