NASHUA, N.H. - September 16, 2015 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team was defeated by Rivier, 3-0 on Wednesday evening. The Raiders won by scores of
25-17, 25-18 and 25-13.Rivier improves to 6-3 and will host Wellesley and Regis on Saturday. The Chargers will compete at Middlebury on Saturday with matches against the Panthers and SUNY Cortland.
This was the second meeting in four days for these two programs. Back on September 12th in the Granite State Challenge, Rivier was able to escape with the win after the Chargers forced a fifth set.
Lauren Silverman led the balanced offensive attack for the home team with nine kills, while Dana Mott and Molly McCormack contributed eight and seven kills, respectively. Mott finished with a .538 hitting percentage and two solo block. Emily O'Reilly recorded 29 assists with libero Bethany Trevino registering a team-high 20 digs.
Colby-Sawyer was paced by
Gabrielle Rodriguez who had six kills and
Kelsey McCulley, who saw four swings hit the floor.
Laura Smolinski was the team's assists leader with 17 and
Lexi Strong had 20 digs.
