WATERVILLE, Maine - October 4, 2015 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team saw its nine match winning streak end with an 8-1 loss at Colby, but then defeated Thomas College 9-0 to secure its fourth straight undefeated regular season in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) East Division.
The Chargers end the regular season at 12-2 overall and 7-0 in the NEAC to secure the top seed in this year's postseason tournament, which Colby-Sawyer will host on Saturday. Colby's (3-0) Gabriela Venditti won 6-1, 6-1 over
Ashlyn Ramsay at first singles and Lydia Venditti cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win against
Ashley Woodside at the second spot.
Maddie Lupone won at third singles for Colby with a tight 6-3, 6-7, 10-4 pro-set win over
Aislinn O'Connor. Jamie Pine won at fifth singles for the Mules and Olivia Stein took the sixth singles win at 6-3, 6-2 against
Lauren Blanchard, a player Stein lost to last year.
Senior captain Holly Bogo teamed with Pine for an 8-3 win at second doubles, while Aleks Piibe and Katie Ryan were winners at third doubles.

Evelyn Miller defeated Piibe in a terrific fourth singles match by a 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 pro-set score.

The Chargers jumped to an early 3-0 lead, winning all three doubles matches. Lindsey Allen and Olivia Mora fell to the pair of Ashlyn Ramsay and Ashley Woodside 8-1 in first doubles. McAllister and Amelia Guimond dropped second doubles 8-2 to Aislinn O'Connor and Evelyn Miller. Mia Navarro and Jordyn Taylor also fell 8-2, dropping third doubles to Hilary Boucher and Michelle Lopes.
Singles began with Allen falling in first singles 6-0, 6-3 to Ramsay. Olivia Mora lost second doubles to Woodside 6-2, 6-1. Guimond fell to O'Connor 6-1, 6-0 and Navarro dropped fourth singles to Miller 6-0, 6-0. McAllister was beaten by Abbie Rix 6-1, 6-1 and Rachel Gillis was defeated by Cate Connery 6-2, 6-2.
Ashlyn Ramsay increased her school record win total to 117 with two wins this afternoon. She also became the program's all-time leader in doubles wins with 64 and is tied for first in singles wins with 53.
