POULTNEY, Vt. - October 24, 2015 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team secured the top spot in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) standings after a pair of 3-0 victories over Green Mountain and Castleton on Saturday. Sophomore
Lexi Strong (Somersworth, N.H.) recorded her 1000th career dig in the second match of the day.
The Chargers improve to 9-22 overall and finish the NAC regular season with a 6-0 record to earn the top spot. Colby-Sawyer will host the final four format beginning on November 6 with two semifinal matches with the championship being played on November 7.
Colby-Sawyer 3, Castleton 0 - 25-20, 25-15, 25-19Gabrielle Rodriguez hit .321 en route to a game-high 12 kills in the 3-0 win over Castleton.
The Chargers were also powered by
Alli Lahiff who tallied nine kills and
Kelsey McCulley who recorded six.
Lexi Strong led the way defensively with 14 digs, while
Laura Smolinski handed out a game-high 21 assists to steer the Chargers' offense.
Castleton (13-8, 4-2 NAC) was led by Brittany Brayman who tallied 11 kills and eight digs while swinging at a .375 clip. Kaylee Pratt contributed five kills in support of the Spartans' offense. Amanda Chambers and Kristi Lawless each recorded seven digs defensively while Cassidy Tedeschi and J'Leen Diaz each notched six digs. Alex Madsen garnered 16 assists as she directed the offense.

Lexi Strong's 1000th career dig milestone as it swept Green Mountain College, 3-0, in the final match of the afternoon.
The Chargers were led by
Kelsey Sullivan who tallied eight kills and and seven service aces. Strong paced the team's defense with 10 digs en route to her milestone setting performance.
Alli Lahiff enjoyed an impressive four total blocks at the net in addition to her four kills.
Gabrielle Ratte handed out a game-high 12 assists directing the visitor's offense.
Green Mountain (1-20, 1-5 NAC) was led by Hayley Loisel's six kills while Torie Cowell contributed three kills. Sandra Parra and Megan Roy each garnered four assists as they shared the setting duties.
