BANGOR, Maine - October 17, 2015 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team earned a pair of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victories in Maine on Saturday. The Chargers defeated Husson 3-0 and followed with a 3-1 victory over Maine Maritime.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 4-0 in the NAC will host its final regular season match on Wednesday against Southern Maine at 7 p.m. The Chargers have two NAC matches remaining, which will take place next Saturday at Castleton with Green Mountain.
Colby-Sawyer 3, Husson 0 - 25-13, 25-21, 25-7The Chargers' offense was clicking in the day's first match with a .242 hitting percentage. The team hit an impressive .450 in the first set with 10 kills and one error. Colby-Sawyer also finished with 17 service aces.
Gabrielle Rodriguez led the team with eight kills on .571 hitting. She added seven digs and a team best six aces.
Kelsey Sullivan also had eight kills and seven digs.
Freshman
Gabrielle Ratte collected 17 assists and added a pair of aces.
Lexi Strong finished with a match-high 11 digs.
Colby-Sawyer 3, Maine Maritime 1 - 25-18, 25-12, 22-25, 25-22Gabrielle Rodriguez and
Kelsey Sullivan finished with the same amount of kills for the second straight match as they both led the team with nine apiece. Rodriguez also added 14 digs, while Sullivan collected 12.
Courtney Murray hit an impressive .429 to finish with eight kills.
Gabrielle Ratte nearly got a double-double as she finished with a match-high 28 assists and added eight digs.
Lexi Strong had another solid effort on defense with a match best 22 digs.
