WATERVILLE, Maine - January 10, 2015 - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team pushed its winning streak to six games after defeating Thomas College, 88-58 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) tilt on Saturday afternoon.
The Chargers improve to 8-3 overall and 6-0 in the NAC. Colby-Sawyer will host a pair of games on Friday and Saturday against Husson and Maine Maritime. Thomas drops to 5-8 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
Colby-Sawyer controlled much of the first half, shooting over 50% from the field, including 7-14 from three-point range, while
Wol Majong led all scorers with 13 points. Eric Westbrooks and Justin Murray led the Terriers in the first half, scoring eight points each.
Coming out of the locker room leading by a score of 46-31, Colby-Sawyer continued to pull away from Thomas.
Mike Dias scored 13 second half points while
Peter Donato added 10 in the half, giving him a game-high 18 points. Westbrooks and Adam Carlsen each added eight second half points for the Terriers.
Donato was 9-of-12 from the floor and grabbed a team best nine rebounds. Dias also shot it well, going 7-of-9 for 17 points. Majong finished with 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
The Chargers outrebounded the Terriers 45-26 and held Thomas to 34.4% shooting.
Eric Westbrooks led the Terriers with 16 points and eight rebounds.
