Forty-Six Bench Points Lead Chargers Past Johnson St., 79-58

JOHNSON, Vt. - December 11, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball received 46 points off the bench en route to a 79-58 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory at Johnson State College on Thursday evening. 

The Chargers improve to 4-3 on the season and 2-0 in the conference while the Badgers slide to 1-8 on the year and 1-3 in the NAC.
 
The Chargers jumped out to an early lead over Johnson State in the first half opening an six-point lead within the first eight minutes of the game. The defensive pressure put on by the Chargers allowed Johnson State to make only 27 points in the first half, holding them to 39% from the field.
 
The second half was more of the same with the Badgers only shooting 32% as compared to the Chargers' 45%. Colby-Sawyer wrapped up the game with a 79-58 win.
 
Mike Dias notched a game-high 25 points and grabbed 11 boards. Dias moved into sixth on the all-time career rebounds list with 612, passing Ryan Murray '09 who collected 610 career boards. Koang Thok, Zach Bean and Peter Donato put 16, 14 and 10 on the board, respectively for the Chargers.
 
Johnson's Robert Hazard led the Badgers with a double-double recording a team-high 20 point game and grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds while teammate Asim Khan tallied 11 points in the Badgers losing effort.

Johnson returns to action on Saturday the 13th when the team travels to New England College for a 3:00pm tip while the Chargers host Lyndon St. for a 3:00pm tip-off.
