Lady Chargers fall in season opener

RINDGE, NH - September 15, 2013 – The Lady Chargers traveled to Franklin Peirce University having only 3 days of training prior to this opening match. An extremely strong start from Colby-Sawyer put them well within reach of adding first points to the board, but the Ravens' defense held strong.   As the match progressed it became obvious that the larger veteran roster of the Lady Ravens was going to have an impact on the outcome.  The Colby-Sawyer squad gained valuable playing time for veterans and new ruggers who were just introduced the sport 5 days ago.  Franklin Peirce ended up winning the match by a score of 42 – 0.  The Colby-Sawyer Lady of the Match, aka the “Golden Boot”, goes to Lindsey Grant for an outstanding job at fullback!

The Colby-Sawyer Women's Rugby team will be back in action on Sunday, September 29th when they travel to Johnson, Vermont for a 11:00am match against Johnson State College.
