Women's Soccer Soars Past Owls, 2-0

Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. - September 14, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer College women's soccer team scored a pair of first half goals en route to a 2-0 non-conference win over Keene State College. With the win the Chargers move to 5-1 while the Owls fall to 2-2-1.

Both teams took nine shots on the day with the Owls holding the advantage of shots on goal, 6-4. The Chargers' offensive pressure attributed to a 5-1 edge in corner kicks. 

Senior Stephanie Huntley utilized an early first half set piece to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead. Colby-Sawyer would add their second goal of the first half when junior Michelle Upham found the back of the net on a pass from freshman Lizzie Jorgensen. The Chargers kept the Owls scoreless as sophomore Karley Hamilton posted seven saves in the win.

Colby-Sawyer returns to the pitch Tuesday, September 17 when they host Plymouth State. Kick off is set for 4:00pm. Keene State plays Wednesday at Clark.
