NEW LONDON, N.H. – December 1, 2009 – The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team suffered its second straight loss by dropping a 77-60 decision to Plymouth State, on Tuesday evening. The Panthers remain undefeated at 5-0, while the Chargers drop to 2-3. 

Sophomore Alicia Doucet (Manchester, N.H.) scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Plymouth State to the victory. 

The first half was a back and forth affair as each team took multiple leads. Doucet made her presence felt from the start scoring 16 of her 25 in the first 20 minutes. However, the Chargers trailed by only one at half-time due to the Panthers shooting just 21.4% from the floor. 

The Chargers shot 22.2% in the second half, while the Panthers continued to knock down shots from the perimeter. Plymouth State shot 42.3% from beyond the arc making 11 triples in the game. Colby-Sawyer hung tough throughout the second half until the Panthers pulled away with five minutes to play. Junior Amanda Kania (Manchester, N.H.) connected on three treys in a two minute span to push Plymouth's lead to 20. 

The Panthers defense held the Chargers to eight points in the final six and a half minutes en route to their fifth straight win to start the season. Kania finished with 15 points. Senior Katie Sunderland (Londonderry, N.H.) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while senior Kalie Judd (Peabody, Mass.) poured in 10 points. 

For the Chargers, freshman Cailin Bullett (Millbury, Mass.) had a team-high 12 points and senior Amy Hebert (Keene, N.H.) had 11 points. Freshman Sammi Lehr (Cohasset, Mass.) continued to be dominant on the boards recording her fourth straight double-digit total with 14. Senior Terri Duffy (Marshfield, Mass.) scored eight point and moved into 10th on the Colby-Sawyer all-time scoring list with 1010 career points. 

The Chargers return to action on Saturday with a home contest against Tufts at 1:00 p.m. The Panthers will host Salem State on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
