NEW LONDON, N.H. – November 16, 2008 - The Colby-Sawyer Chargers opened their season with an impressive 74-51 victory over Lesley, on Sunday afternoon. Before the start of the game the 2007-08 squad was honored for their TCCC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearances. Noelle Surette '08 was also recognized as the newest member of the 1,000 point club.
The Chargers were led by junior Terri Duffy (Marshfield, Mass). Duffy scored a game-high 26 points in only 26 minutes. She also added 13 rebounds, including seven on the offensive end. Kali Coleman (Portsmouth, N.H.) finished second on the team with nine points connecting on three three-pointers.
Emma Pasquale (Eliot, Maine) had a solid game for Colby-Sawyer on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Pasquale scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds to go along with six steals and three blocks.
Lesley was led by senior guard Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass) and sophomore Brianne Caira (Pelham, N.H.). Carbral-Pini scored a team-high 11 points, while Caira recorded 13 rebounds.
The Chargers will host Springfield College on Wednesday, November 19, at 7:00 p.m.
