Metz will enter his fourth season in 2019 as the Head Coach of the Colby-Sawyer men's soccer program.
In 2018, the first year as a member of the GNAC, Metz led the Chargers to a 6-3-2 conference record and an appearance in the semifinals.
In 2017, Metz guided the Chargers to a NAC Championship appearance after posting an 8-1 regular season conference record. The Chargers were 14-3-1 under Metz in the NAC.
In his first season in 2016, Metz led the Chargers to a 10-7-1 overall record and a 6-2-1 conference record to earn the third seed in the NAC Tournament. He earned his first head coaching victory in the season opener with a 3-0 home victory over Curry College.
Metz received a BA in Recreation and Sports Leadership from Eastern Mennonite University (Harrisonburg, Va.) in 2009 and a Master of Science in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University (Irvine, Calif.) in 2011.
Metz joined the Colby-Sawyer family, in 2016, after spending two seasons as an assistant men’s soccer coach at Clark University in Worcester, Mass.
Metz also spent two seasons (2014-15) as a staff coach for the New England Futbol Club (Mendon, Mass.) where he assisted with tournaments, coached multiple teams, ran camps with technical training and provided videography for the club.
Prior to 2014, Metz was an assistant coach at Eastern Mennonite University for a season. He also was a two-time Shenandoah District Coach of the Year in three seasons as the varsity boy’s coach at East Rockingham High School (Elkton, Va.).
Metz holds an NSCAA Advance National Diploma and NSCAA Goalkeeping 1 and 2 Diplomas.
