Biography

AT COLBY-SAWYER
2021: Shatford was the top defender for the Chargers in 2021 starting all 20 games and making a huge impact in front of the cage. Jess notched another key defensive save against Thomas College (Maine) on October 3rd in a 5-3 victory. Shatford was later honored as a GNAC First Team All-Conference member while also being recognized as a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) 2021 Division III National Academic Squad scoring above a 3.3 or higher cumulative grade point average throughout the first semester of the 2021 academic year.

2020: The team did not compete due to COVID-19.

2019: Shatford earned six starts as a defender in 12 appearances in her second season in New London.

2018: Shatford played in all of the team's 19 games and started eight times. She notched a defensive save on September 30th to help the team preserve a 2-1 victory at Thomas College (Maine). 

PRIOR TO COLBY-SAWYER: Graduate of Pinkerton Academy. Shatford was a varsity field hockey athlete for the Astros. She earned the Coach's Award in 2016.
