2022: Close had six outings for the Chargers in 2022 ending the year 0-1. Kaelen ended the season with 11 innings pitched with six strikeouts, 15 earned runs with a 12.27 ERA. Close pitched a shutout inning of work on March 8th in his debut outing of the season. The senior threw 15 pitches only allowing a walk.

2021: Close made a pair of appearances in the shortened season for the Chargers. Close ended the season with six innings pitched without a decision. Close recorded six punch outs, while allowing seven hits and four earned runs for an ERA of 6.00.  

2020: Close led the pitching staff in a shortened 2020 season. He tossed 10.1 innings, did not allow a run and struck out 14 batters. He had a miniscule WHIP of .79 and an opponents batting average of .091. Close threw a one-hit, complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts to earn a victory over D'Youville in Florida on March 11. For his efforts he was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) National Pitcher of the Week and GNAC Pitcher of the Week.

2019: Close earned three starts in seven appearances on the mound in 2019. His best outing came against DII Saint Michael's when he tossed 4.2 innings of relief with no runs on two hits and five strikeouts. 

PRIOR TO COLBY-SAWYER: Graduate of Beverly High School, where Close played baseball and earned three letters. He was a member of the North Finals DII Championship team.
