As a senior: Avellino was named to the All-NAC First Team for the third year in a row. He increased his batting average for the second-straight year to finish as the team leader at .372. He started in 26 of his 28 appearances and also led the Chargers in hits (32), slugging percentage (.465) and on base percentage (.421). Avellino was second on the team with eight doubles, second with 11 RBIs, second with six stolen bases, and third with 12 runs scored. Avellino finished an impressive 3-year career at Colby-Sawyer with 116 hits to rank 17th all-time and is third in career batting average at .356. He also finished tied for ninth with a .416 on base percentage.
As a junior: Avellino was named All-NAC First Team for the second year in a row. Avellino was also tabbed an ECAC Division III New England All-Star. He led the Chargers in batting average (.365), hits (46), runs (23), RBI (26), triples (2), and stolen bases (18). He was 4th among all conference players in hits and batting average. He played and started in all but one of Colby-Sawyer's 38 games and had at least one hit in 28 games and at least two in 14. Avellino was the 37th toughest batter to strikeout in all of Division III after fanning just six times in 126 at-bats. He was twice named NAC Player of the Week. After two seasons with the Chargers, Avellino boasts the fifth highest career batting average at .350.
As a sophomore: Avellino was named to the All-NAC First Team in his first season with the Chargers. He played and started in 32 games and was second on the team with a .333 batting average, 114 at-bats and 21 runs. He was 11th among all conference players with 38 hits and 10th with eight doubles, while leading the team in each category. Avellino earned a pair of NAC Rookie of the Week honors this season.
As a freshman: Did not play
At Woodstock Union: Avellino was a three sport athlete for the Wasps. He earned three all-league honors in baseball, three in soccer and three in basketball. Avellino also garnered all-state soccer distinction as a senior and was named to the Dream Dozen in basketball as a junior.
