As a junior: Butler was fifth on the team with a .281 batting average. He played in 28 games and started 22 times. Butler was tied for the team lead with 18 runs scored and was tops on the team with seven stolen bases.Â
As a sophomore: Butler made five starts in 16 appearances. He hit .273 and knocked in three runs. He was one of four Chargers with at least a .400 slugging percentage. Butler swiped four bags.Â
As a freshman: Butler played in 25 games and started 17 times. He recorded his first collegiate hit in his first game against intrastate rival New England College on March 12. He converted six of seven stolen base attempts.Â
At Narragansett: Butler was on the baseball, football and indoor track teams for the Mariners. He was on a baseball state championship team and was named division MVP and first team all-division. Butler was a two-time RIBCA all-star. He also was all-division in football. Butler is a member of the National Honor Society and Foreign Language Honor Society.Â
Personal: Son of Chery and Brian. Has sisters named Brittany, Casey and Annie and brothers named Connor, Cameron, Brenden and Brady. Austin is a Biology major.Â
