As a junior: Shane had another impressive season at the plate hitting .340, which was second on the team. He started and played in 30 games. He led the team in runs (26), was third in hits (34) and was 7-8 in stolen bases.

As a sophomore: Hoagboon sported a .353 batting average, which was third on the team, in 21 games. He registered 10 runs batted in on 18 hits.

As a freshman: Hoagboon started 20 games as the team’s catcher last year. He led all rookies on the team with 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored. Hoagboon’s defensive play improved throughout the season, as he became one of the top first-year catchers in the conference. Out of 109 chances, Hoagboon only committed four errors and threw out eight potential base stealers.

At Mayfield: Hoagboon starred in baseball and basketball for his high school. He was a three time Western Atlantic Conference First-Team selection and a one time Second-Team selection. Within the classroom, Hoagboon was an honor student and a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Son of James and Bonnie Hoagboon. Has a brother named Derek. Majoring in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration.
