AT COLBY-SAWYER
2024:
Kuhlthau shined in her junior season for the women's lacrosse team starting all 18 games for the Chargers. Soph ended the year with 35 goals, 14 assists, 78 draw controls, 43 ground balls and 40 caused turnovers on the season and was later named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Second Team for a second-consecutive year. Kuhlthau tallied her season-high in points on March 30th at Anna Maria with seven on six goals and an assist in a Charger win. Defensively she had a big day on April 9th against Rivier with two goals, two ground balls and a new career-best seven caused turnovers in another victory. Kuhlthau sits 6th in program history in ground balls (141) and 4th in caused turnovers (105). 

2023: Kuhlthau continued to be a star for the Chargers women's lacrosse team starting every game and putting up 55 goals, five assists, 44 ground balls, 32 caused turnovers and 74 draw controls. Sophia ranked 8th in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in goals (55), 12th in caused turnovers (32) and 8th in draw controls (74). Kuhlthau started off the year strong with five goals, three caused turnovers, four grounders and six draws in a 17-5 Charger win. She tied her career-high in goals on March 18th against Albertus Magnus in a 18-5 win scoring six goals. On March 20th at Castleton University, Kuhlthau netted six more goals to go with an assist, four ground balls and five draws in another win. Sophia was later named the GNAC All-Conference Second Team for her efforts. Kuhlthau etched her name into the Colby-Sawyer record books sitting in 7th in goals in a single season and 7th in draw controls in a single year. 

2022: Kuhlthau was a key contributor from day one for the women's lacrosse team starting 16 games in her rookie season. Sophia ended the year with 32 goals, five assists, 54 ground balls, a team-best 33 caused turnovers and 87 draw controls. Kuhlthau was one of the top defensive midfielders in the GNAC ranking fifth in caused turnovers (33), 13th in ground balls (54) and eighth in draw controls (87). Kuhlthau scored her first collegiate goal on February 23rd at Curry College in a 17-11 win. Sophia ended the day with three goals, three ground balls, five caused turnovers and seven draw controls. Kuhlthau had another big day at Albertus Magnus College with two goals, four ground balls, five caused turnovers and six draw controls on April 2nd in a 17-7 Charger win. On April 5th Kuhlthau had her career-day scoring a career-high six goals while dishing a career-high three assists to go with five ground balls, five caused turnovers and six draw controls. Sophia was named to the GNAC All-Rookie Team for her first season in New London and was also a GNAC Rookie of the Week. 

PRIOR TO COLBY-SAWYER: Graduate of Cheshire High School. Kuhlthau finished as a member of the SCC Conference 1st-Team as well as earning a 2nd-Team All-State selection.
