New London, NH – The Chargers hosted a non-conference doubleheader against the Plymouth State Panthers on Thursday. The Chargers won both games, as first year Jacob Putnam (North Haverhill, NH) hit a home run in each game.

The Chargers worked the comeback in the bottom of the 2nd, as Noah Staffier (Beverly, MA) scored. Putnam hit an RBI single. Later, Jared Schmitt (Surry, NH) scored. Mike McLeer (Saco, ME) hit a 2 RBI single, and Jesse Chaves (Taunton, MA) hit an RBI single. The two teams were even at 6-6 after the 2nd.

Janai Cruz (Manchester, NH) earned an RBI in the 4th inning for the Chargers. The Chargers offense continued to score in the 4th inning. Staffier scored a run, McLeer hit an RBI sac fly, Sean Roeger (Salem, NH) hit an RBI single, and Chaves hit a 2 RBI single. The Chargers led 14-10 after four innings.
