Wenham, MA – The Chargers split Wednesday's non-conference doubleheader with the Fighting Scots of Gordon College. 

Rapid Recap Game 1: 

• Zach Ferris (Stratham, NH) was the Chargers' starting pitcher, and Josh Thiero was the Fighting Scots' starting pitcher. 

• In the third at bat of the game, Mike McLeer (Saco, ME) hit his fifth home run of the season to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead. The homers didn't stop there, as Evan Dennis (East Ryegate, VT) sent one over the fence in the 2nd inning to double the Charger lead. Cael Smith hit an RBI single in the 2nd inning for the Fighting Scots. 

• In the 3rd inning, Jesse Chaves (Taunton, MA) and Dylan Watson (Byfield, MA) both hit RBI singles to give the Chargers a 4-1 lead. In the 4th, Gabe Fales hit an RBI sac fly for Gordon to make the score 4-2. 

• Sean Roeger (Salem, NH) hit an RBI double in the 5th for the fifth Charger run of the game. In the 6th, Jacob Putnam (North Haverhill, NH) hit an RBI double for the Chargers. The Fighting Scots scored three runs in the bottom of the 6th. The Chargers led 6-5 after six innings of baseball. 

• Adam Gracie scored for Gordon in the 7th inning to tie the game up 6-6. 

• In the 8th inning, Putnam hit an RBI single into center field to give the Chargers a one-run lead. McLeer and Watson each hit an RBI single in the 8th to give the Chargers a 9-6 lead. The Chargers won the game 9-6. 

Inside the Numbers Game 1: 

• Ferris, Matt Moreau (Hope, RI), Colby Russell (Dover, NH), Connor Fowler (Hampton Falls, NH), and Simon Keary (Penacook, NH) all pitched for the Chargers in game 1.  

• Chaves, Putnam, McLeer, Watson, Dennis, Roeger, and Janai Cruz (Manchester, NH) all had 2+ hits in game 1. 

• Carter Shin was 4-4 from the plate for the Fighting Scots. 

• The Chargers combined for 16 hits. 

Rapid Recap Game 2: 

• Rex Hill (Andover, VT) started on the mound for the Chargers, and Caleb Stuart started on the mound for the Fighting Scots. 

• James Coats and Aaron Ferreira hit RBIs in the 1st inning for Gordon College, to put the Fighting Scots up by three runs. Dennis scored a Charger run in the 2nd inning. 

• The Fighting Scots scored three runs in the 3rd inning. Nick Johnson (Manchester, NJ) hit an RBI single into right field for Colby-Sawyer in the top of the 4th. In the bottom of the 4th, Aaron Ferreira hit a home run for Gordon. Gordon led 7-2 after four innings. 

• McLeer scored a Charger run in the top of the 5th. Gordon scored three runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. 

• Watson hit a home run into right field in the 7th inning for the Chargers. The Fighting Scots won the game 10-4. 

Inside the Numbers Game 2: 

• Hill, Anthony DeMarco (Danielson, CT), Oscar Nelson (Bath, ME), and Hayden Goerlich (Amherst, NH) all pitched for the Chargers in game 2. 

• Watson, Roeger, Devin Montalvo (Coram, NY), and Johnson all had two hits in game 2. 

• Shin was 5-5 from the plate for the Fighting Scots. 

• The Chargers combined for nine hits.

The Chargers will play in Vermont on Friday for a GNAC doubleheader with Norwich University.
