Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

CHARGERS BATTLE IN 2-0 LOSS AGAINST KEENE ST.

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team returned home on Sunday morning to host an in state match-up against the Keene State Owls.
 
Rapid Recap:
  • The Owls would break open the scoring fairly early on in just the 3rd minute on a deflection off the first initial shot by Dylan Chambers before Martin Lubunga netted the first goal of the game.
  • The Chargers would go on to almost knot the game even at 1 on a corner kick in the 38th minute. Senior Nick Carrabino (Fair Haven, Vt.) would get his head on the ball but just miss the goal wide right.
  • The Charger defense would keep the Owls out of net with strong play from their backline. The Owls were held scoreless until the 67th minute when Dorian Wilczynski netted the second goal.
Inside the Numbers:
  • The Chargers had great play in net from Sophomore Evan Whalen (Barrington, N.H.) would played his second straight complete game in goal. Whalen would finish with 5 saves on the day.
Up Next:
The Chargers will host the inaugural night game for the Colby-Sawyer Chargers at Sally Shaw Veitch field on Tuesday, September 9th at 7PM under the new lights. First 400 fans in attendance will get Colby-Sawyer branded sunglasses.
