Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

CHARGERS START 3-0 IN CONFERENCE PLAY FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2017

Chicopee, Mass. – The Chargers women's volleyball team remains undefeated in conference play after winning 3-1 against Elms on Saturday. 

Rapid Recap: 

  • Both teams traded points in the first set until the scoreboard showed 15-15. Kamryn Brakemeier (Fort Worth, Texas) and Addison Sasnett (Virginia Beach, VA) both had two more kills each to help propel the Chargers to win the first set 25-17. 

  • The second set would mirror the beginning of the first set, with both teams tied at 15. Brenna Piller (Simsbury, Conn.) would add two more kills, with Brakemeier doing the same, pushing Colby-Sawyer to a second set 25-23 win. 

  • In a close third set, the score would be even at 18. Piller would provide two service aces for the Chargers. Elms would win the set 25-22. 

  • The Chargers started the fourth set strong, jumping out to a 9-0 lead. Brakemeier, Sasnett, and Piller would all provide multiple kills, helping the Chargers to a 20-9 lead. Brakemeier scored the final point, helping Colby-Sawyer win the fourth set 25-11. 

Inside the Numbers: 

  • Jules Larock (Austin, Texas) led the team in two categories on Saturday: Aces (4) and Digs (19). 

  • Sasnett recorded 16 kills on Saturday, making it her second game in a row with over 15 kills. 

  • The win on Saturday helps the Chargers to a 3-0 conference record.

The Chargers' next match is on Tuesday when they face non-conference opponents Anna Maria College for a 7pm start.
