NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team hosted their second straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference match-up on Saturday afternoon against Mitchel College.
Rapid Recap:
- Jo'metrius Davis would get the scoring started with a goal in the 17th minute. The Chargers would knot the score at one right before halftime after being given a penalty kick in the 41st minute after a foul committed by the Mariners goalkeeper. Matheus Saragosa (Sao Paulo, Brazil) would hit the back of the net to send the match at an even 1-1 tie.
- After a tight defensive battle, the Chargers broke open the second half scoring to take the lead in the 62nd minute. Damian Moreno (Columbia) would put in the go ahead goal for the Chargers, as he was assisted by Saragosa. The Mariners would come to tie the score at two in the 70th minute on a goal by Jose Pacheco.
Inside the Numbers:
- Goalkeeper Yener Bartolon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) made his 46th career start on his way to one save.
- Saragosa would record his 3rd assist and second goal of the season after his three point day.
- Moreno would pick up his 3rd goal of the season for Colby-Sawyer.
