CHARGERS COMEBACK EFFORTS FALL SHORT AGAINST BULLDOGS

NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team hosted their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference match-up of the year against Dean College Saturday afternoon where their comeback efforts would fall short.

Rapid Recap:
  • The Bulldogs would get a penalty kick early on to set up the scoring for the game that Brian Allen would net to bring the lead to 1-0. Ethan Henderson would add some insurance for the Bulldogs in the 17th minute as he would bring the lead to 2-0.
  • The Chargers would cut the lead in half right before the end of the first half with a free kick just outside the box. Colin Riley-Perec (Plymouth, Mass.) would rip the shot, which deflected off the Bulldogs wall, and found itself hitting the back of the net to make it 2-1 going into the break.
  • The second half would see both teams going back and forth while the Chargers were able to maintain a majority of the possession and attacking efforts as they took five shots. Clay Tyler would add another goal for the Bulldogs in the 72nd minute bringing us to a 3-1 scoreline.
  • Kaden Lewis (Lunenburg, Mass.) would hit a beautiful flick over the over extended Bulldogs keeper on an assist from Andres Cuellar-Vera (Bonita Springs, Fla.) to bring our score to 3-2 in the 81st minute. The Chargers would continue their ramped up pressure for the last ten minutes.
Inside the Numbers:
  • Colby-Sawyer would out shoot the Bulldogs 12-10 while Dean College landed more shots on net with 6.
  • Kaden Lewis would net his 5th goal of the season, already closing in on his career high just 5 games into the season.
  • Yener Bartolon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) would play all 90 minutes in net while recording three saves on the day.
