NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team hosted their first official Conference of New England match against the Western New England Golden Bears on Saturday afternoon where they would win, 6-1.

• The Chargers would claim the opening point of the match as they swept all three doubles. Maria Espinosa Lopez (Merida, Mexico) and Isabella Gutierrez (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) would win number one doubles 6-2. Sky Jara (South Hamilton, Mass.) and Avery Nielson (Thornhill, Ontario) would handle their number two doubles 6-2. Payton Dugan (Vincennes, Ind.) and Callie Valeri (New London, N.H.) would finish the sweep 6-2 in number three doubles. 
• Dugan would cruise to victory in number one singles in straight sets of 6-1, 6-1. Gutierrez would land the Chargers their third point of the match in number two singles as she would win 6-1, 6-0. Jara and Espinosa Lopez would both go on to win 6-0, 6-0 in three and four singles to help the Chargers take the match.

The Chargers return to action next Saturday when they go up against Roger Williams in New London with a start time of 1PM.
