CHARGERS FINISH 4TH AT GNAC OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

STANDISH, MAINE - The Colby-Sawyer women's track and field team traveled to Standish, Maine over the weekend to compete in the two day conference championship hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine. 

Rapid Recap:
  • The first year, Lila Brillhart (Underhill, VT.) would showcase her dominance in year one by winning the 100 meter hurdles with ease as she cruised past the line with a time of 15.36 in the finals. She would then go on to run a 13.12 in the 100m dash securing two points for the team in the event with a fifth place finish. 
  • Isabelle LaPlume would make a big splash for the team after having a fantastic season as she would throw 29.39m in the discus to lock down a third place finish in just her first year with the team! Teddy Pollack (Arlington, Mass.) would also have a great first outdoor championship as she threw 25.61m in the Javelin, and 29.56m in Hammer.
  • Maisy Hill (Bristol, Vt.) would make her debut in the Steeplechase, and would compete next to Leah O'Neill (Peabody, Mass.) and Lenah Hellerich (Tolland, Conn.). O'Neill would lead the Chargers as she would finish in a time of 12:29.68 finishing in second overall. Hill would cross the line next in a time of 13:30.62 to get the bronze medal. Hellerich would run 12:37.37 on her way to scoring points with a fifth place finish.
  • Adriana Nadeau (Londonderry, N.H.) would have a day for the Chargers as she ran both the 10k and 5k races. She would come away with the gold medal in the 10k on her way to a new personal best with a time of 39:12.50. She would go on to get silver in the 5k on day two as she got another massive personal best, breaking the 19 minute barrier with a time of 18:57.07. O'Neill would come back in the 5k as well as she would almost break the 20 minute barrier, with a time of 20:01.78.
Inside the Numbers: 
  • Brillhart, LaPlume, Hill, O'Neill, and Nadeau would all receive All-Conference awards for their perfomances and ability to make the podium during the meet.

  • The team will prepare to head to the DIII New England Championships on May 2nd in New London, Conn.
