Chargers Extend Win Streak to Five

Wenham, Mass. - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team picked up their fifth straight conference win as they took down the Scots of Gordon College 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon. The Chargers improve their Conference of New England (CNE) record to 6-3. 
 
Rapid Recap: 
  • The duo of junior Peyton Meuse (Newport, N.H.) and senior Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.) would pick up a 6-2 win at number two doubles, but the Scots would take the 1-0 lead winning at one and three doubles. 
  • The Chargers continued to battle in singles winning at the two through five positions. Junior Zsombor Homonnay (Dunakeszi, Hungary) picked up a 7-5, 6-2 win at number two while Jensen claimed a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 win at number five. First-year David Dvorak (Prague, Czech Republic) would secure the Chargers win with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at number four.

"The team did an incredible job today beating one of our main rivals, Gordon, to extend our winning streak to five in the conference," said junior Zsombor Homonnay (Dunakeszi, Hungary). "The energy was electric today and we are looking forward to performing even better at home on Saturday when we face Saint Joseph's in the playoffs." 
 
Up Next:  
The Chargers return to action on Saturday when they host the University of Saint Joseph's (Conn.) in the first round of CNE playoffs with the start time to be determined.
