Chargers Blank Colonels 7-0

Milton, Mass. - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 win, taking down Curry College on Tuesday afternoon. The Chargers improve their Conference of New England (CNE) record to 4-3.  
 
Rapid Recap:  
  • In doubles action, the Chargers would claim the opening point. The duos of first-year Leonardo Russo (Barcelona, Spain) and Leonardo Brezzi (Trieste, Italy) and sophomore Markus Rankins (Latham, N.Y.) and junior Caiden McManus (Wallingford, Conn.) would cruise to 6-1, 6-2 wins at the number one and two positions respectively. 
  • The Chargers would continue to dominate in singles action, sweeping all six positions. Brezzi would claim a 6-1, 6-0 win at number one while first-year Alex Norris (Rockport, Mass.) picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at number three. Junior Anthony Debellis (Rochester, N.H.) rounded out the singles lineup, winning 6-0, 6-1 at number five.  
 
Post Game Press: 
"Today felt great to get outside in some beautiful weather while giving some other guys on the team chances at match play," said junior Caiden McManus (Wallingford, Conn.) "We had a team win today with great help from Norris and Debellis and I got a big win for myself out there today."  
 
Up Next:  
The Chargers return to action on Thursday when they travel to Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts to take on CNE opponent Wentworth Institute of Technology with a 5:30 PM start.
