Chargers Dominate Thursday with Two Wins

Orlando, Fla. - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team picked up two convincing wins on Thursday cruising past Western Connecticut State University 7-0 and the University of Scranton 6-1.  
 
Rapid Recap Game 1: 
  • In doubles action, the Chargers would claim the opening point sweeping all three positions. The duo of junior Peyton Meuse (Newport, N.H.) and senior Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.) would cruise past the Wolves duo of Nick Peschier and Henry Gsell to a 6-0 win at number two doubles.  
  • The Chargers continued to dominate in singles action winning all six singles positions. First-year Jacob Riis (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at the number four position while sophomore Leonardo Russo (Barcelona, Spain) claimed at 6-1, 6-0 win at the number five position.  
 
Rapid Recap Game 2: 
  • The Chargers picked up wins at the number one and three doubles positions to take opening point Thursday afternoon. The duo of first-year David Dvorak (Prague, Czech Republic) and sophomore Leonardo Russo (Barcelona, Spain) cruised to a 6-1 win at the number three position.  
  • In singles action, the Chargers won five out of the six positions to take the 6-1 win over the Royals. First-year Oliver Van Hattum (Bunnik, Netherlands) picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at number five singles while first-year Jacob Riis (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number six.
