Chargers Split Contests on Monday

Orlando, Florida - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team split their pair of contests on Monday as they fell to Saint Lawrence University 4-3 and picked up a 5-2 win over St. Norbert College. 

Game 1 Recap:
  • In doubles action, the Saints swept the number one through three doubles to claim the opening point Monday morning.
  • In singles action, the Chargers continued to battle as junior Ashton Meuse (Newport, N.H.) claimed a 3-6, 7-6(5), 10-7 win at number two doubles while first-year David Dvorak (Prague, Czech Republic) claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win at number four singles. Senior Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.) claimed a 3-6, 7-5, 10-8 win at number five singles, but the Chargers rally fell short as they lost to the Saints 4-3. 


Game 2 Recap:
  • In doubles action, the Chargers claimed the opening point as the double's pairs of junior Peyton Meuse (Newport, N.H) and senior Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.) picked up a 6-1 win at number two doubles and junior Zsombor Homonnay (Dunakeszi, Hungary) and first-year Jacob Riis (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) picked up a 6-4 win at number three doubles. 
  • The Chargers continued to dominate in singles action as Homonnay picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win at number two singles and Jensen claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win at number four singles.

"The team is firing on all cylinders," said senior Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.). "We had a tough fight against Saint Lawrence and a great rebound against St. Norbert. We are looking to keep the momentum going against a tough opponent tomorrow."

The Chargers return to action on Tuesday when they take on the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.
