NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team fell in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) regular-season finale on Saturday to the Blue Jays of the University of Saint Joseph's (Conn.), 82-49. Before the game, the Chargers honored seniors
Chaz Cullum (Omaha, Neb.),
Bryson Jenkins (Gary, Ind.), Michael Joanou (Burbank, Calif.),
Owen Morse (Shelburne, Mass.),
Nick Grant (Houston, Texas), and
Matthew Einarson (Danville, N.H.).

- The Blue Jays jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the opening half but would make a layup to get the home team on the board. The Chargers quickly responded with back-to-back baskets, evening the score at 6-6 with 17:09 left in the half. Both teams exchanged buckets throughout the half, with Jenkins nailing a three-pointer to keep the Blue Jays lead to single digits. The Blue Jays would extend their lead to double digits late in the half, but Einarson answered with a three-pointer to trim the lead. The visitors would respond with a layup in the final seconds to take a 40-27 lead heading into halftime.
- The Blue Jays opened the second half knocking down six quick points to extend their lead, but Einarson responded with a layup. Joanou responded with a pair of free throws and jump shot to trim the Blue Jays lead, while Grant added a layup to chip away at the visitors lead. The Blue Jays continued to knock down shots to extend their lead to nineteen points late in the half. A late dunk by Cullum and a three-pointer from Joanou would trim the visitor's lead, but the Blue Jays maintained their offensive rhythm and came away with the 82-49 win.
Inside the Numbers:
- Einarson paced the Chargers with 13 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3PT), three rebounds, and one block. Cullum tallied 12 points (6-15 FG), four assists, and four steals. Grant chipped in nine points (4-9 FG, 1-3 FT), two assists, and one steal while Joanou recorded nine points (3-10 FG, 1-7 3PT, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, and three assists. Jenkins rounded out the scoring for the Chargers with four points (1-5 FG, 1-5 3PT, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, and one assist.
- Friedrich Feldrappe led the way for the Blue Jays with 18 points (8-12 FG, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, and three assists while Lence Altenor added 17 points (7-15 FG, 3-7 3PT), seven rebounds, and five assists. Kevin Cummings tallied 12 points (5-8 FG, 1-4 3PT, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, and one steal for the Blue Jays.
