WATERVILLE, ME. - The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team headed to Maine to take on the Terriers of Thomas College on Monday afternoon before heading into Thanksgiving break.
Rapid Recap:
- The Terriers and Chargers both tally three lead changes and three ties in the first quarter, exchanging baskets back and forth. The Chargers would take a lead with four minutes to go on a free throw by Catherine Chick (Glen, N.H.) and a Tanner Drury (Bethel, VT.) layup. Thomas would finish the quarter with the lead thanks to Elena Alderman and Roxy Dagostino.
- The Terriers would go on to open their lead more in the secon quarter, while the Chargers tried to find an answer to bring the game closer going into halftime. Thomas had three different scroers during a little 9-0 run halfway through the quarter to extend their lead. Elyza Mitchell (Spofford, N.H.) and Lauren MacDonald (Tilton, N.H.) would put in a couple layups to ten going into halftime.Â
- The Chargers would spend the third quarter keeping the score within reach as MacDonald and Drury would help the scoring out of the break. Mitchell and Emily Leonard (Chester, N.H.) would add to the scoring to cut the lead to as little as 7 before Makenna Grillone (Walpole, N.H.)Â would make it a three point game.Â
- The Terriers would catch fire to open up the fourth quarter as they would go on a 9-0 run. Colby-Sawyer would cut the lead again to as little as 7 on a three from Drury. Thomas College would hit a string of 5 free throws to cap the game.
Inside the Numbers:
- The Chargers would finish with two in double figures with Lauren MacDonald (13) and Elyza Mitchell (12). Mitchell would also add 9 rebounds and a career high 6 steals, topping her previous by one. Tanner Drury would add 9 points for the Chargers as well as 3 rebounds.Â
- The Terriers would find three players in double figures on the night, led by Pryelle Kesse-Beda with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Roxy Dagostino would add 15 points and 8 rebounds herself.Â

The Chargers will head into Thanksgiving break, and will come back to play the defending National Champion, New York University in the Dr. Betty Shabazz Tournament on Saturday, November 29th at 2PM.
