Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

CHARGERS SPLIT TRI-MATCH IN NEW HAVEN

New Haven, Conn. – The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team split matches on Saturday, as they played Regis College and Albertus Magnus College. 

Game 1 Rapid Recap: 

  • The first set against Regis would find both teams even at 11. Three kills from Kamryn Brakemeier (Fort Worth, Texas) would help the Chargers lead 17-14. Addison Sasnett (Virginia Beach, VA) and Brenna Piller (Simsbury, Conn.) would each add two more kills as Regis would win the first set 25-23. 

  • The Chargers would build to a 15-12 lead in the second set. Two kills each by Sasnett and Claire Rocky (Sherman, Conn.) would help the Chargers take the second set. 

  • The Chargers would jump to an 8-6 lead in the third set. Brakemeier would get two kills, but Regis would end up winning the set. 

  • A strong start in the fourth set would help the Chargers lead 9-7. Brakemeier would add two kills as Regis would win the fourth set. 

Game 1 Inside the Numbers: 

  • Rocky would get her season best of six total blocks. 

  • Madison Sinatro's (Simsbury, Conn.) seven assists is her personal best of the season so far. 

  • Brakemeier led the team in kills with 13. 

Game 2 Rapid Recap: 

  • The Chargers would take a 10-8 lead in the first set. Four kills from Piller would help the Chargers win the first set 26-24. 

  • The Chargers would jump to a 12-8 lead in the second set. Three service aces from Alexis Mandrino (Dunbarton, N.H.) would be pivotal as the Chargers would win the second set 25-23. 

  • The third set would see the Chargers lead 11-10. Albertus Magnus would tie it up at 11, and the Chargers would respond by winning the next five consecutive points. Two kills and a service ace from Brakemeier would help the Chargers win the third set 25-20. 

Game 2 Inside the Numbers: 

  • Mandrino recorded her season-best of seven aces during the win for the Chargers. 

  • Bree Bacon (Brookline, Mass.) led the Chargers in assists with 26. 

  • Sinatro led the Chargers in digs with 10. 

Up Next: 

The Chargers will travel to Plymouth, New Hampshire to take on Plymouth State University for a non-conference match on Wednesday at noon.
