Cooper O'Brien (Vergennes, Vt.) walked-off the first game with a double down the third base line as sophomore
Dylan Watson (Byfield, Mass.) came around to score.
Rapid Recap Game One (Win 5-4):
- The Chargers jumped ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning as first year Noah Staffier (Beverly, Mass.) stole second base and an errant throw from the Blue Devils catcher scored sophomore Nick Johnson (Manchester, N.J.) who got on via the walk. Sophomore Devin Montalvo (Coram, N.Y.) added an RBI with a groundout that plated Staffier as Colby-Sawyer jumped in front.
- Senior Zach Rogers (Mashpee, Mass.) was dealing with five shutout innings, but in the sixth Fredonia took the lead on a three-run homer by Kyle Tedford put the Blue Devils in front. First year Evan Dennis (East Ryegate, Vt.) evened the score right away with a solo shot to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth to put the score at 3-3 headed into the seventh. The Blue Devils jumped back in front in the seventh with a sacrifice fly by Christian Pagano to plate a 4-3 lead, but the game once again was tied up as O'Brien got a sacrifice fly scoring sophomore Cam Carignan (Rutland, Mass.).
- In the ninth the Chargers finally walked it off as Watson singled to right, followed by the double by O'Brien to plate the winning run.
On the Mound:
- Rogers ended the game throwing six innings with three runs allowed on seven hits and two strikeouts. Junior Josh Finkle (Littleton, N.H.) followed with an inning of work allowing a run on one hit and a walk. Sophomore Justin Powers (Peabody, Mass.) picked up his first collegiate win tossing the final two innings allowing a hit and two walk, while not surrendering a run.
At the Plate:
- O'Brien led the offense with a 1-for-2 performance with two RBI, a double, run scored and a walk. Dennis finished game one 2-for-4 with the first collegiate home run, while Staffier added a 1-for-2 day with two walks, a run scored, stolen base and a caught stealing behind the dish.

Cooper O'Brien (Vergennes, Vt.). "In those moments where they need me I just want to step up for my teammates and I don't want to let them down, so that is what helps me be clutch in those moments."
Rapid Recap Game Two (Loss 9-3):
- The Blue Devils bounced back taking a 4-0 lead after the first inning getting two homers and three hits overall in the inning. The lead grew to five in the bottom of the third scoring on a wild pitch, before adding a sixth run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly.
- In the fifth inning the lead continue to balloon as Bryce Firkins picked up the third home run of the game for the Blue Devils as the lead grew to 9-0 on three hits and two errors in the inning. The Chargers added three more runs in the top half of the sixth as first year Hayden Goerlich (Amherst, N.H.) walked with the bases loaded before a two RBI single by junior Griffin Wheeler (Penacook, N.H.) ended the scoring in the second game.
On the Mound:
- Sophomore Marshall Donahue (Montpelier, Vt.) picked up the loss tossing four innings allowing six runs with four strikeouts and three walks. Sophomore Anthony De Tone (Weare, N.H.) was next allowing two earned runs in an inning of work. First year Eli Calhoun (Swanton, Vt.) pitched the final inning going hitless with his first collegiate strikeout.
At the Plate:
- Watson led the offense with a 2-for-3 day and two stolen bags. First year Sean Roeger (Salem, N.H.) tallied his first two collegiate hits going 2-for-3. Sophomore Mike Krouse (Peabody, Mass.) went 1-for-1 with a run scored, while Wheeler added a 1-for-1 day with the two RBI.
Up Next:
The Chargers will play the final double-header in Myrtle Beach against St. Joseph's University Long Island with 12:30 and 3:30 PM starts.
