Chargers Start Florida Trip with Dominant Win Over Western Connecticut

Box Score Orlando, FLA. – The Chargers men's tennis team picked up their first win in Florida on Sunday with a 9-0 victory over Western Connecticut State.

  • The Chargers held a 3-0 advantage after doubles sessions as Junior Aidan Jenson (Essex, Vt.) and sophomore Zsombar Homonnay (Dunakeszi, Hungary) secured the first win 8-4, followed by the sophomore twin duo of Ashton and Peyton Meuse (Newport, N.H.) earning an 8-0 win and rounded out by first year Leonardo Russo (Barcelona, Spain) and sophomore Matthew Gaudioso (Branford, Conn.) 8-4 win.
  • In singles the Chargers would continue their sweep highlighted by Homonnay with 6-1, 6-2 wins in number one singles, a Meuse 6-0, 7-6-5 win in the second singles, and a Jensen 6-1, 6-3 final in the third slot.
