Chargers Finish in Third Place in the GNAC Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – The Colby-Sawyer men's indoor track and field team took part in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships on Sunday competing at Boston University in a field of five teams. The Chargers secured the third place finish with a score of 81 points. Saint Joseph's (Maine) won the end with a score of 244. 

Rapid Recap:
  • Sophomore JJ Davis (Bradford, N.H.) started the day for the Chargers with a second place mark in the 60 meter dash at a time of 7.18. Davis followed up the performance with a 22.50 time in the 200 meter dash good for second place. 
  • Senior Jordan Kofos (Kittery, Maine) picked up a fourth place finish in the 400 meter dash at a time of 53.22. 
  • In the 800 meter junior Hayden Goyette (Epsom, N.H.) scored with a bronze medal at a time of 2:00.75.
  • In the mile run senior Jesse Gushee (West Linn, Ore.) added a third place finish at a time of 4:43.15.
  • Junior Martin Steucek (Ashburnham, Mass.) added yet another third place this time in the 5000 meter at a time of 16:30.57. 
  • In the 60-meter hurdles senior Chase Adams (Brookline, N.H.) became inevitable winning his third-straight GNAC title at a time of 8.69. Adams broke his own school record with the time besting his previous 8.72 time. 
  • Both Chargers relay teams placed in 2nd to conclude the scoring.

The Chargers will head back to Boston in the NCAA Division III New England Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 25th.
