BOSTON, MASS. - The Colby-Sawyer women's track team kicked off the indoor track season as they traveled to Boston to compete on the New Balance track for the Early Bird Invitational that saw a school record, team debuts, and strong performances.

- First Year, Lila Brillhart kicked off the day for the Chargers with a strong prelim run in the 60m hurdles as she broke the school record, running the first sub 10 second time in program history in the event. That time secured her a spot in the finals later in the day where she would go on to break her own new record and finishing as the 7th best runner of the day on her way to a 9.54 finish.
- Sophomore, Payton Dugan (Vincennes, Ind.) made her team debut in the 60m dash and the 200m as she was the fastest on the team crossing the line in 9.63 in the 60m and 33.43 in the 200. Fellow Sophomore, Marisa Lambert made her season debut in the 60m and 200m where she did not finish too far behind Dugan, finishing in 9.83 in the 60m and 33.96 in the 200.
- Junior, Leah O'Neill (Peabody, Mass.) led the way in the 3000m run for the Chargers as she came away with a finishing time of 12:20.43. First Year, Lenah Hellerich (Tolland, Conn.) made her indoor debut with the Chargers also competing in the 3000m run, surging to a time of 12:46.08.

- Lila Brillhart's performance already has her locked as the 14th fastest 60m hurdle time, and the fastest in D3 after the first weekend.Â

The Chargers will be heading into winter break and take some time off as they will compete back at the TRACK at New Balance on January 11th.
