NORTHFIELD, VT. - The Colby-Sawyer men's cross country team traveled to Norwich Unviersity, host site of the 2024 GNAC Championship where the team would finish third overall with 86 points.
Rapid Recap:
- Graduate student, Cody Thompson (Dunnellon, FL.) led the Chargers as he was the individual champion of the meet as he beat everyone in a field of 87 runners in a time of 25:43.
- First Year, James Masterson continued on his strong first year with the Chargers as he crossed the line fourteenth overall with a massive personal best as he ran 29:19.
- Senior, Martin Steucek (Ashburnham, Mass.) finished 23rd overall for the Chargers as he crossed the line in a time of 30:16.Â
- Senior, Hayden Goyette (Epsom, N.H.) returned to the team after some time away, and was the fourth Charger to cross the line as he finished right behind Steucek clocking a time of 30:26.
- Senior, Aidan Weagle (Hudson, Mass.) rounded out the Chargers top 5 as he clocked in a time of 32:06 for 38th place.
- Senior, Johnathan Platti (North Granby, Conn.) made his debut with the team, as he finished right behind Weagle in a time of 32:20.
- Senior, Jordan Kofos (Kittery, Maine) made his season debut with the team as well, clocking a time of 39:53.
- Senior, Cross Sierra (Bourne, Mass.) rounded out the Chargers runners on the day as he clocked in a time of 43:57.
Inside the Numbers:
- Thompson not only was named Runner of the Year for his first place finish, but also received first team all-conference.
- Masterson in his first year received second team all-conference honors after his 14th place finish.
- The team finished third overall with a score of 86 points.
