NEW LONDON, NH - Colby-Sawyer College will add two new varsity sports programs — softball in the fall of 2025 and men's lacrosse in the fall of 2026.
With increased popularity in Lacrosse in the Northeast over the last couple of years, schools have recognized the sport's appeal and its ability to draw student interest. As Lacrosse becomes a part of the 2028 Olympics in L.A. the Chargers see that this program will help benefit the growing potential of Colby-Sawyer athletics.
With an established club on campus, the reinforced need for a varsity Softball team was brought up as a real possibility for Colby-Sawyer. As another sport with an uptick in popularity over the last couple of years, and over 300 DIII schools offering the sport, Colby-Sawyer is happily now able to offer the sport in 2025.
