Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

CHARGERS FALL TO SIMMONS 3-0

BOSTON, MASS. - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team has their winning streak snapped Tuesday evening in a conference match-up against Simmons University as they were taken down 3-0.

Rapid Recap:
  • The Chargers struggled to string together a good rally of points as they took on one of the top conference teams in Simmons on Tuesday. As a team that averages 8.57 assists per set, the Chargers seem to have an off night.
  • Simmons found every way to score against the Chargers as they took home the first set 25-12 from the Chargers.
  • The next two sets the Chargers looked to keep the game competitive as they made sure to stay within striking distance from the Sharks. However, the Sharks took the next two sets as well 25-20 in both.
  • Although this may have seemed like an off night for the Chargers, their were a lot of highlights in such a competitive game in the last two sets. The Chargers pushed the pace and went back and forth with the Sharks throughout both of those sets keeping a close score to set themselves up to extend the match.
  • The Chargers took the lead multiple times in set two to set themselves up for tying the match, until Simmons put together a string of points to take home the set. Set three played a little bit of catch up for the Chargers but still made the game competitive as they tied the game late in the set until Simmons went on to string together 4 straight points to take home the match.
Inside the Numbers:
  • Ally Majenski (Marshfield, Mass.) led the Chargers with 6 total kills in three sets.
  • Audra Fontes (Frenso, Cali.) led the Chargers with 10 digs in three sets.
  • Brooke Patnode (Weare, NH) led the Chargers with 9 assists in three sets.

The Chargers return home for Homecoming and Alumni weekend as they host Dean college at 7:00PM and they are asking all Chargers to wear white for a WHITE OUT!
