KEENE, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer men's cross country team competed in the Keene State XC Invitational on Saturday coming in 13th place.
Rapid Recap:
- Junior Hayden Goyette (Epsom, N.H.) led the way placing in 23rd position in the 8k at a time of 26:52.0.
- Senior Jesse Gushee (West Linn, Ore.) was next at a time of 27:43.0 good for the 57th place.
- Junior Martin Steucek (Ashburnham, Mass.) followed in 119th at a time of 29:48.3.
- First year Jeffrey Huckins (New Hampton, N.H.) (30:54.2) and first year Ben LaPlume (Bristol, N.H.) (31:27.4) rounded out the scorers in 153rd and 163rd.
- Plymouth State University won the event with a score 59

"This race was a great test of fitness and mental fortitude", said junior
Hayden Goyette (Epsom, N.H.). "It presented itself with obstacles involving the mud but everyone had great efforts out there despite these challenges. It was a fun race to be apart of and I'm glad we got to race with a vast majority of competitors. The overall perseverance our team displayed on this course bodes well for conference next month and the rest of the races on the way!"
