SPRINGFIELD, Mass.
– The Colby-Sawyer women's track and field team competed at the Springfield College Classic on Saturday hosted by Springfield College.
Rapid Recap:
- Junior Ashley Keleher (Mashpee, Mass.) placed second overall in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.49 setting a new outdoor school record. She also broke the 200-meter dash outdoor school record after placing second in the event with a time of 25.55.
- First year Kate Cochran (North Sutton, N.H.) qualified for the 100-meter hurdles and finished seventh with a time of 17.21.
- Senior Shannon O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.) competed in the 1,500-meter run placing eighth with a time of 5:07.11. Sophomore Tess Millette (Barrington, N.H.) also ran in the event clocking in at 5:17.46 for 15th place.
- In the 4x100-meter relay, the Chargers took fifth with a time of 52.90 featuring Cochran, Keleher, sophomore Courtney Brewster (Castleton, Vt.), and junior Anna Bieszczad (Grantham, N.H.).
- In the field events, junior Faith Mazzapica (Tewksbury, Mass.) competed in the discus throw placing 10th overall with a mark of 29.53-meters. She also threw in the hammer throw event securing 15th place with a mark of 27.99-meters. Bieszczad placed nineth in the javelin throw after getting a 27.61-meter mark. Keleher competed in the triple jump finising fourth overall with a 10.50-meter mark.
