NEW LONDON, Conn.
– The Colby-Sawyer women's track and field team competed at the Silfen Invitational over the weekend hosted by Connecticut College. The Chargers placed 17
th out of 21 teams with 12 points.
Rapid Recap:
- Junior Ashley Keleher (Mashpee, Mass.) secured a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash after clocking in at 58.08. Keleher breaks the previous Colby-Sawyer outdoor record in the 400-meter dash set by Heather Faasse back in 2015 which was 1:01.65.
- First year Kate Cochran (North Sutton, N.H.) placed eighth overall in the 100-meter hurdles after crossing the finishing line in 16.92. She also grabbed eighth place in the high jump event after getting a mark of 1.42-meters.
- Senior Shannon O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.) secured 20th place in the 5,000-meter run after clocking in at 18:52.17.
- In the 1,500-meter run, sophomore Tessa Millette (Barrington, N.H.) placed 22nd out of 68 competitors with a time of 5:12.68. First year Julia Huckins (New Hampton, N.H.) also competed in the race finishing with a time of 6:27.85.
- In the 4x100 relay, the Chargers took nineth place featuring Cochran, Keleher, sophomore Courtney Brewster (Castleton, Vt.), and junior Anna Bieszczad (Grantham, N.H.) with a time of 52.13.
- In the field events, Brewster and senior Emily Parent (Oakland, Maine) competed in high jump event both earning a mark of 1.37-meters. Bieszczad placed 24th overall in the javelin throw with a 25.16-meter mark.

"This weekend's meet was super fun," said first year Kate Cochran (North Sutton, N.H.). "We had some great weather and saw a ton of personal bests from the whole team."
