NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team suffered a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) loss on Monday evening against Saint Joseph's College of Maine with a final score of 75-31. The Chargers drop to a 6-7 conference record while the Monks improve to 12-1 on the season.

- The Monks jumped to an early 12-4 led after Hailey Anderson hit a three pointer with first year Elyza Mitchell (Spofford, N.H.) claiming the first four points for the Chargers. Senior Lia Raynowska (Brentwood, N.H.) finished her layup off the assist from sophomore Marissa Holt (Alfred, Maine) to make it 12-6. After sophomore Gabby Lucertini (Brandford, Conn.) made both of her free throw shots, the Monks would go on an 8-0 run to go ahead 24-8 to end the first quarter.
- Holt opened the scoring in the second quarter after making a jumper. Anderson added another five points to Saint Joseph's led following two good free throw attempts and a triple. Mitchell knocked down a jumper from a Megan Molettieri (Pelham, N.H.) assist to bring the score to 29-12. The Monks went on a 15-1 run to end the quarter and headed into halftime with 44-13 led.
- Mitchell finished a layup and a free throw to begin the scoring for Colby-Sawyer in the third quarter. The Monks built a 10-1 run featuring two triples by Stapelfeld to put Saint's Joseph's up 56-18. Mitchell and Raynowska each made a free throw apiece followed by a good jumper by Holt to end the quarter at 58-22.
- In the final quarter, the Monks drained back-to-back three pointers extending their led to 64-22. Towards the end of the quarter, the Chargers began to push their offensive with senior Abby Hamelin (Chesterfield, N.H.) finding her way to the free throw line and completing both attempts. Shortly after, senior Emily Parent (Oakland, Maine) knocked down a triple but Saint Joseph's would defeat Colby-Sawyer by a 75-31 final score.
Stats & Figures:
- Mithcell led the Chargers in scoring with 10 points (4-8 FG, 3-3 FT) along with eight rebounds. Holt scored seven points (3-11 FG, 0-2 3-FG, 1-2 FT) to along with two rebounds, three assists, and a block.
- Stapelfeld ended the day with 20 points (6-10 FG, 4-6 3-FG, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists, and a pair of steals.
- The Monks outshot the Chargers 39.7% to 25.0% from the field and held a 43-27 advantage in rebounds.
