PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer men's track and field team competed in the Panther Invitational II on Saturday hosted by Plymouth State University. The Chargers placed fifth out of the seven teams participating in the meet with a team score of 61.
Rapid Recap:
- Junior Chase Adams (Brookline, N.H.) had a successful race in the 400-meter dash placing second overall with a time of 52.08.
- Sophomore Dylan Flewelling (Oakland, Maine) competed in the 5,000-meter race and secured a second-place finish with a time of 15:56.44. Sophomore Martin Steucek (Ashburnham, Mass.) also ran the event in 17:17.41 for a sixth place finish.
- Sophomore Jordan Piechowski (Windham, Maine) ran the 800-meter in 2:10.33 for a fifth-place finish. Following closely behind him was first year Patrick Murphy coming in seventh place with a time of 2:19.88.
- In the 200-meter dash, first year Kyle Gassiraro was the top sprinter for the Chargers clocking in at 24.77 for a sixth-place finish. Senior Dean Miller (Andover, Mass.) was not far behind placing eighth with a time of 24.85.
- In the 60-meter dash, first year JJ Davis (Bradford, N.H.) qualified for the finals and placed seventh with a time of 7.42.
- In the field events, sophomore Drew Doughty (Bedford, N.H.) placed first overall in the pole vault event with a mark of 3.55 meters. Sophomore Achius Wolfley (Lords Valley, Pa.) placed fourth in the triple jump after getting a 10.29-meter mark. In the high jump event, Davis secured eighth place with a mark of 1.50 meters.
