Chargers Compete in the Wheaton College Invitational Meet

NORTON, Mass. – The Colby-Sawyer men's track and field team competed in the Wheaton Invitational hosted by Wheaton College on Saturday. The team placed fourth at the meet with a team score of 36.5.

Rapid Recap:
  • Junior Chase Adams (Brookline, N.H.) had a successful day for the Chargers after finishing third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.81. He also had a strong performance in the 60-meter hurdles placing fourth with a time of 8.85.
  • First year JJ Davis (Bradford, N.H.) was the top sprinter for Colby-Sawyer in the 400-meter dash clocking in at 53.65 which was good for fifth place. Closely behind him was sophomore Jonathan Platti (North Granby, Conn.) coming in seventh place with a time of 55.08 and senior Dean Miller (Andover, Mass.) finishing in eighth place with a time of 55.24.
  • In the one-mile race, junior Jordan Piechowski (Windham, Maine) finished in fourth place after clocking in at 4:54.56. Right behind him was sophomore Martin Steucek (Ashburnham, Mass.) taking fifth place with a time of 4:57.35.
  • In the field events, sophomore Drew Doughty (Bedford, N.H.) placed fifth in the pole event with a mark of 3.70 meters. He also competed the long jump event securing sixth place with a mark of 5.59 meters. Sophomore Connot Moynihan (Tewksbury, Mass.) threw for the Chargers in the shot-put event taking eighth place with a mark of 9.98 meters. In the triple jump event, sophomore Achius Wolfley (Lords Valley, Pa.) came in third after jumping 10.44 meters.
 Up Next:
The Colby-Sawyer indoor track and field team will return to Plymouth State University to compete in the Panther Invitational II on Saturday, February 4th.
